Facial resurfacing procedures

There are many ways to improve facial skin. Whether you wish to improve the tone, texture and pore size or you wish to remove wrinkles or improve scars, resurfacing techniques will provide a significant improvement if not resolution of the problem area. The technique chosen will depend on the initial problem area and the following outline gives a synopsis of all the techniques we provide here at Vie Institute.
Dermabrasion - This surgical procedure removes layers of skin to help eliminate lines and wrinkles of the cheeks, chin or around the mouth. Using a rotating diamond encrusted surgical metal head, this technique literally abrades the skin down to the deeper dermal layers, leaving enough stem cells in the skin for new growth.
Laser resurfacing - This technique vaporises the surface of the skin and is the ideal option when lines are very deep and the entire face needs treating or for delicate areas such as around the eyes.
Portrait PSR - This new technique uses Plasma energy to change the architecture of the skin by increasing collagen and elastin production over a period of 12 months. This treatment dramatically reduces pigmentation, smooths wrinkles and refines the skin.
TCA or Chemical Peels - Using tried and tested chemicals to treat superficial lines, pigmentation and sundamaged skin. Some downtime involved while the facial skin is healing.
Light Therapy - IPL/CPL, or Intense Pulsed Light/ Controlled Pulsed Light is a non laser light which is particularly useful in treating pigmentation. This can be used for laser hair removal but is not as effective as a diode laser.
Skin peels - Using naturally occurring fruit acids and enzymes to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation, improve the overall tone and texture and encourage regrowth of collagen and elastin. These peels are easy to apply, well tolerated and have little or no down time. |
