 Kathy Gambini RN
Kathy has more than 20 years experience at helping surgeons provide the very best in pre-operative and post operative care for their clients. Vie Institute has been enormously fortunate to have Kathy as our first employee from our inception in 1994 (as Sunshine Coast Plastic Surgery). Over the years Kathy has had several roles within our practice, and has had the opportunity to change and grow with the practice.
Kathy's initial role was as Dr McGovern's Registered Nurse First Assistant. For six years she assisted him with all his elective surgery. She has an intimate knowledge of all cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Kathy has been providing free consultations for all clients interested in cosmetic surgery since 1998. As the demand for this service has grown, she has trained two other registered nurses who now share this role.
In January 1998 Kathy was offered the opportunity to research the many non-surgical cosmetic procedures that were just starting to emerge. Our vision was to have a holistic practice that could offer our clientele non-surgical cosmetic options, as well as surgery. Kathy's enthusiasm for the field of cosmetic rejuvenation, coupled with her dedication to perfection made her a natural choice to head our new Cosmetic Clinic.
Under her supervision, our Cosmetic Clinic blossomed. In keeping with our dedication to quality and professionalism we have sourced the very best registered nurses to train in the field of cosmetic medicine. We now have four registered nurses to assist us in delivering cosmetic treatments of exceptional quality.

The American Society of Skin Care Specialists (there is no Australian equivalent).
The Cosmetic & Reconstructive Nurses Association of Australia & New Zealand
The American Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgical Nurses.
Kathy's Qualifications are:
- Registered Nurse
- Certified Laser Safety Officer
- Certified Paramedical Aesthetician
- Certified Paramedical Camouflage Aesthetician
- Certified in Facial Beauty Therapy
- Certified Green Peel Practitioner
Kathy is fully trained and qualified in the use of all dermal fillers and wrinkle injections, however government regulations prevent us from using the names of these products and therefore our hard earned titles!
Kathy is dedicated to updating skills and keeping not just abreast of the times, but ahead of them!! These days Kathy spends most of her time training our ever expanding team and ensuring that you receive the level of service and professionalism that we promise. She is however, always available to speak with clients. If you have any cosmetic concerns, Kathy will be able to give you information on every procedure, both surgical and non-surgical, that may suit you. Whatever your problem, she will have a cheery smile and all the answers at your free consultation.
 Jan Marret RN
Jan is a caring and meticulous Registered Nurse who joined our team in January 2000. Jan had spent the previous 18 years at Buderim Private Hospital, working mainly as a recovery nurse in theatre. It took quite a bit of persuading to get her to leave the hospital, but we needed this gem on our team.
Jan's role within our practice has also grown. Jan has always looked after our clients after surgery. She will help you through those first few weeks with dressing and removal of sutures in the most caring fashion. She loves to do this and so has kept up this role and helped to train our latest registered nurse - Moira.
Jan's main role though, is to help to keep our clients looking their best with the help of non surgical cosmetic treatments. Jan is a full time injector. She is qualified in the use of all wrinkle injections and dermal fillers, and has been performing these in our practice for the last 5 years.
With so many years experience, and the only full time injector on the Coast, Jan is everyone's first choice.
No matter in which setting you are fortunate enough to have Jan help you, you will be thoroughly looked after and delighted with the experience. She has brought with her not only her excellent interpersonal skills and compassion, but a wealth of experience and she will help make your experience with us a joy!
