Dermal fillers for Females

Dermal fillers are widely used these days by both men and women to keep them looking young and to improve facial features. Initially when dermal fillers were introduced, they were used to soften facial lines, folds and to enhance lip volume. General ageing, skin damage from years of sun exposure, genetics and even the way we sleep can be factors in why we develop lines and folds on our face.

These days’ dermal fillers are also used to restore volume, to shape, or lift the face to give it a more youthful appearance. Fillers can help scars and even disguise minor disfigurements of the nose. They are one of the most popular cosmetic procedures available for women and men.

What is Dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are in the form of a clear gel that is injected into our tissues. The gel filler is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally within your body, so it is safe and effective at adding volume and rejuvenating your appearance.

At Vie Institute we take great care in researching all products before we offer them to our clients. All products or procedures that we recommend must give honestly good results, must be long lasting, must look natural and have minimal problems associated.

What are the benefits of having a Dermal filler?

Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of lines, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance by adding lost volume. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and there is very little downtime involved. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression.

Are dermal fillers permanent?

The most important fact to remember about most dermal fillers is that the results are not permanent. Injected material is eventually metabolised by your body. Depending on the area and type of filler the results generally last from 6months to 2 years.

Background, skin quality, metabolism and lifestyle may all play a role in the length of time the correction is maintained.

Will the Dermal Filler treatment hurt?

All dermal filler treatments should be relatively pain-free experiences. These days all of the dermal fillers we stock have a local anaesthetic in there formulation. A topical anaesthetic cream may be applied to the area to be treated, or for sensitive areas such as the lips, a local anaesthetic may be injected.

Ask your therapist how long your treatment will take. If it hold an hour or less, they will be rushing the treatment which will result in some pain. A dermal filler treatment should take about 45 minutes, to ensure your comfort.

Will I be suitable for a Dermal Filler treatment?

Facial rejuvenation is very much individualised. That’s why it is important to discuss your hopes and expectations before treatment begins.

If you suffer with an auto-immune disease, are allergic to local anaesthetic or are pregnant – you may not be a suitable candidate.

If you have permanent fillers injected, problems can arise from injecting other substances over the permanent filler.

If you have a permanent filler in situ, we will refrain from injecting the area, as we do not want to cause problems.

We do not inject permanent fillers because of the problems that can arise many years down the track.

Will my dermal filler be noticeable to anyone else?

We aim to make you look refreshed naturally. Less is often better than more in this instance. If you have more than one area of concern it may be possible to do this all at once or you may plan to do this over a longer period of time.

Initially most treatments do attract a degree of swelling and, as with any needle you have anywhere there is a risk of a bruise. Generally both of these side effects tend to be minimal.

Lips tend to swell more than other parts of the face. The swelling can last a couple of days. If you have not had fillers in your lips before, we suggest you have your first treatment when you have no social engagements for a few days.

What Dermal Fillers are the safest to use?

If you stick to HA’s (hyaluronic acid), you cannot go wrong. The worst that can happen is you dislike the result. In this case the HA can be treated quickly with a product called hyaluronidase, which dissolves the HA immediately.
As with everything, you get what you pay for. Use a well know name brand. We are forbidden by government regulations to mention any names of dermal fillers. Do your research and remember, you get what you pay for.

People with animal product allergies can safely use these product

Are the results of dermal fillers instant?
Yes the results are immediate, however there is often some associated swelling and bruising following treatment with dermal fillers and this may take a day or two to settle. This varies from person to person.

How long do dermal fillers last?
One of the great advantages of dermal fillers is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. The length of time they last can vary due to factors including, age, amount of sun damage in the skin, metabolism and area being treated to name a few.

Taking the type of filler being used and the area being treated into account they can last anywhere from 6months to 2years.

Are there any side effects to dermal fillers?

Immediately after a dermal filler treatment, minor side effects such as some degree of swelling, redness and bruising are common. The area may also feel a little tender. A bruise is like any normal bruise and may last for up to a week. Swelling and redness usually dissipates within 24 to 48 hrs. With all medical procedures individual experiences will differ.
